Making The College Application Process Easier

New York, Wednesday, April 25, 2001 –

Juxta Digital announced today that it has launched online student application forms for Columbia University's Continuing Education and Special Programs.

The Continuing Education website, http://www.ce.columbia.edu, offers high school students (www.ce.columbia.edu/hs), students studying overseas (www.ce.columbia.edu/op), and students who wish to take a course at Columbia - whether to prepare for a career change or for entrance into graduate or professional school, to pursue advanced training in their fields, or to seek personal enrichment (www.ce.columbia.edu/) - opportunities to apply to and pay for the program online through a web-based interface. Juxta Digital developed the online applications, and plans to connect the data with the university's internal registration systems.

Juxta's work has helped us to streamline our application process significantly, said Julia Hess, Webmaster. We were able to build forms that guide our applicants to submit all of the necessary information particular to their chosen program, including personal statements and writing samples. Tailoring the applications for our school's twenty-plus programs was no small feat-Juxta's expertise here was integral. We foresee that these developments will free up our admissions staff and maximize the time they spend advising students.

Juxta Digital has built several database-driven websites for education, publishing, and media, including www.lang.edu for Lang College, www.pshares.org for Emerson College, www.poets.org for the Academy of American Poets, www.bbcfootage.com for the BBC, and others.
