Juxta's Martin Schecter To Be A maker

New York, Monday, April 8, 2002 –

Juxta Digital, a new-media consultancy in New York, has been chosen as one of 40 official website makers invited to attend Silicon Alley Reporter's Meet the Makers conference on Tuesday, April 23rd, and will be represented by Martin Schecter.

Meet the Makers, hosted by Brian Alvey and Jason McCabe Calacanis (editor of the Silicon Alley Reporter), is the first conference of its kind where people who have created major websites or been responsible for major innovations in the field are invited to attend an all-day think session about the industry. The featured attendance list is by invitation only. The conference provides interviews with major site builders about their sites and an advanced look at some of the newest internet and website building tools.

At Juxta Digital, Mr. Schecter has lead or is leading major internet development efforts for Court TV, the British Broadcasting Corporation, Emerson College, and others. His internet career spans numerous firsts, including leading the development and launch of the first interactive video entertainment website in 2000, On2Movies, and working on the first e-commerce website, Shopping 2000, in 1995.

Juxta Digital has built numerous websites, as well as sophisticated software systems for sales and marketing, online business, document management, and customer relationship management. Sites that Juxta has produced and manage include www.bbcfootage.com for the BBC, www.logicworks.net for Logicworks, www.courttvevidence.com for Court TV, www.poets.org for The Academy of American Poets, and www.pshares.org for Ploughshares at Emerson College.
