Put A Poet On A Stamp
New York, Tuesday, April 17, 2001 –
Juxta Digital encourages you to visit www.poets.org/npm/nominations and cast your vote for the American poet you would like to see honored on a postage stamp.
The postage stamp nominations are taking place as part of the online celebration of National Poetry Month, the Academy of American Poets month-long celebration of poetry and its place in the American culture. National Poetry Month is made possible by grants from The National Endowment for the Arts and The New York State Council on the Arts. Juxta Digital is the interactive agency that has created the National Poetry Month website and the Academy's website at www.poets.org.
Also available on the National Poetry Month (www.poets.org/npm) section of the website are links to subscription offers from supporting literary magazines, order forms for posters, lists of books published in honor of National Poetry Month, an events calendar, links to additional resources, and answers to frequently asked questions.
We're proud to be a part of The Academy's annual celebration of poetry, says Martin Schecter, Juxta Digital's Chief Strategy Officer. I think these efforts show how new technology can also enhance our appreciation for and participation in culture and learning.
Juxta Digital has built several database-driven websites for education, publishing, and media, including www.lang.edu for Lang College, www.pshares.org for Emerson College, www.poets.org for the Academy of American Poets, www.bbcfootage.com for the BBC, and others.
