Mobile Internet Software Brings Healthcare To The Bronx

New York, Tuesday, October 23, 2001 –

Juxta Digital (http://www.juxtadigital.com) today announced that it is rolling out a unique mobile internet software project for Promesa, a non-profit health and human services provider in the Bronx.

The new software is a dynamic survey creation and screening tool for the Promesa Child Health Initiative. Funded by the New York City Department of Health, the initiative is designed to educate and screen the public on five areas: asthma, home safety, lead poisoning, preventive health issues (such as child immunization), and health care coverage. Health workers will be sent into the field armed with laptops loaded with the software and connected via wireless modem to a central database. They will use the software to screen candidates, manage clients, and assess and document the progress of the initiative. The software also allows Promesa to create new surveys and new reports as the program progresses.

This is the first year for this dynamic new Health Initiative, which was created with a specific mandate to utilize new technology to reach the public. Previously, these various initiatives were conducted separately by separate agencies.

After a search for a provider to meet its needs for the program, Promesa chose Juxta Digital to develop the custom system based on the sophistication of Juxta's software development capabilities, its record in working with non-profit organizations, and its service in the New York area.

Juxta Digital has built sophisticated systems for sales and marketing, online business, document management, and customer relationship management. Juxta also has an online survey creation tool, which it has launched for Court TV, and has built numerous database-driven websites, including www.poets.org for the Academy of American Poets, www.bbcfootage.com for the BBC, www.pshares.org for Ploughshares at Emerson College, www.courttvevidence.com for Court TV, and others.
